I completely agree about the "live size replica on oneself" but I didn't want to say anything yet. I would not be able to eat it either. I think a portrait to hang on the wall would have been more acceptable and pleasing. Other than that, I stand by my original comments. Fantastic Premiere, Lots of Fun.

Diamonds would have been and acceptable alternative.... ;)

That cream puff cake sounds awesome! Sure would love a recipe.... I wonder if their family members ever get tired of cake? I know when I worked at the cookie store, my family got tired of me bringing my practice and mistake cookies home.

A lot of Italian cakes start with a sponge cake and then are soaked with some type of liquer. Not sure what type of filling he's using, but I put cannoli filling in the middle of cake and it's really good. Goes well with a cake soaked in rum syrup.

I would love a really good sponge cake recipe, the ones I'd try is always sooo dry...

Sponge cake isn't meant to be moist. It's meant to be a sponge - to soak up what you add to it. That's what makes it taste good.

Does anyone remember the name of the new Italian Liquor he used for the cream puffs for his mama's retirement cake?

I have to say I'm shocked. I thought for sure Buddy's family would speak Italian. Here's the other thing that cracks me up...everyone on this site knows, obviously, that I created this fan group, so no one is going to write a message to Buddy. How come thousands and thousands of people don't realize that TLC's marketing department handles the Cake Boss fan page and they think they're writing to him? And, even funnier, there are a bunch of fake Cake Boss pages and people don't know it. On one of them, the person who set the page up writes, "my oh my" and he gets hundreds of responses. I'm sorry, but I just don't get people. It's no wonder scamming remains profitable.

Great show this week. Loved all the cakes...the Egyptian Cake for the Sweet 16 was amazing and so was the baby shower..BUT the Medieval Times Cake was a masterpiece!! Theresa, you say his family reminds you of yours and I can COMPLETELY understand...but they are more like my in-laws!! LOL LOL I laughed out loud when they commented on riding a horse and said "driving" a horse!!! Love to watch them create... but get a bigger kick out of the NJ/NY slang and wonder what they are going to say next!
