Dear Ms Barb,

I feel for you. I have been doing something similar like yourself. But appreciate all the hardship when we are starting up. Things were a snail's pace for me when i started. I did many thing but only wised up how to promote my home based baking business. Yes, we do need plenty of encouragement. All those who laughed or looked down on you would sure be choking back on their words soon if not already. If we just keep on concerntrating and stay focus on what we love doing, i'm sure sucess will be yours soon. don't give up and keep the faith.

Hi! My husband and I are empty nesters during the school year. Both of our daughters, ages 22 and 20 are away at school during the year but return during breaks and summer. I have only been "caking" since October '09 when I took the first Wilton Course. I was hooked! I had been working as a cookie decorator for several years and wanted to take the class to learn how to do roses. Since then I have been reading everything I can about cake decorating and have watched, I don't know how many, videos. There's so much to know...kinda reminds me of a line from an old Cat Stevens song..."There's so much left to know and I'm on the road to find out..." I love cakeswebake because everyone is so willing to share their knowledge and there are soooo many talented people in one place AMAZING! Well, I'm happy to be part of this group and hope to learn more from everyone here.

Hi everyone! I just joined the group today. I love to see all of the talent that we moms have being creative at home. I'm self-taught in the cake department, and I couldn't ask for a more satisfying hobby. I look foreword to learning from all of you.

Hi, im a mother of 3, all of whom are 5 yrs and under, youngest being only 2.5mnths old. Started doing cakes 2007 because I wanted to bake my daughter's 1st bday cake myself instead of spending a ridiculous amount of $ like we did for my 1st-born. I just started doing it as a business last yr and just rcently resumed business after taking time off for being preg and giving birth. I'm only self-taught and only ever taken 1 cake decorating class. So i've still got a long way to go! I'm glad to have seen and joined this site/group so I can share with other mums like me who somehow juggle kids and cakes! :)

Hi, I'm a mum of 4, ranging from 13 to 3 so I'm kept very busy! I started cake decorating 4 years ago and love it. I love looking at everybodys cakes for ideas and inspirations.
