Amateur cake decorators

This is for cake decorators that are just starting off. I see a lot of professionals but I want to know about those that haven't got to that point yet. From the looks of my cakes I still have a long way to go. Can anyone relate.

I'm Canadian, but they are all over Florida, think maybe NY state too. Seem to remember there was a Publix in Potsdam where my son went to school

Hi all

Im from Australia and have been playing around with cake making/decorating for a year or so now.  I have started a facebook page called Cakes Tash Bakes for anyone interested in what I have been up to. Some are great but a lot are not so great. You can certainly see how I am progressing. Right now I am working on a 40th wedding anniversary cake and am making some hearts but it is SO hot and humid here right now they arent going too good!  Anyways, will be watching this site with lots of interest now that I have found it!

Ah, yes your Summer our Winter. Have to deliver & set up a wedding cake today, and it is FREEZING!!!! There is lot of good info on here Tash. You will find info on fondant/icing on hot days. Lots of decorators, including me, face this at one time or another.
