This silcone fondant mat is so wonderful for a beginner cake decorator. I used it today and it made it so easy to cover a 10" x 10" x 5" inch square cake with fondant. I don't think I could have done it without this mat. The size I purchased is 24" x 36"....I love it...great for rolling out cookie dough also and if you have a oven that large (no problem right..hehe) you can even bake on it.
Has anyone else tried this mat?

sweet wise has a new mat out that is food grade. U can roll your fondant out as big as the mat and as thin as u need it to. What I like about what I have seen about the mat is that the fondant does not stick to it. You just take the top off and lift the mat up underneath and place on your cake. If it is not on there correctly just lift it up and position it on the right way and just carefully peel the mat away from the fondant. NO grease or finger marks get on the fondant either.

I think I may have to invest in one of these - I made fondant this week and it was a nightmare trying to peel it off the mat I was using without it sticking and then tearing.
I recently ordered Ateco's 24x24 fondant mat. I haven't tried it yet, but all of the reviews were great and it was less than The Mat. The reviews were the same on Amazon and Ateco's was a little less expensive.
I am going to have to check this mat out. Love the idea you can bake on it as well. Might just be an early Christmas present to myself
I received the Ateco mat, it's nice but I'm really thinking I would like The Mat. especially since my fiancé's daughter loves zebra print and things like that. I like when the fondant looks like one piece. Does anyone have any tips for that or any other mat that is like The Mat?
