Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I am in need of a snowflake cutter set for a snowflake wedding cake. I want detailed cutouts. Not just the outline of a snowflake. Any suggestions? I have looked at some online, but can't decide what is best. I have attached an example of what I want.

Eileen S was just working with some patchwork snowflake cutters. Send her a note and ask about hers.
I'm not thrilled with the patchwork cutters, but I think it's just me. If I had to use them to cover an entire wedding cake I think I'd shoot myself. LOL. They are very time-consuming for me. The best material I found was a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mix rolled out and then left to dry for about 15 minutes before cutting. I then sprayed the cutters with Pam to help them release from the paste since they are very intricate.

Anyone have a different brand suggestion??

I have the patchwork cutters too... you have to let your fondant set for about 10 minutes after you roll it out before cutting them out. Better to actually use gumpaste with them. If you allow your paste to dry a bit the cutters are much easier to work with. The PME cutters are nice because they have the plunger that pushes them out. Here is the link at GSA... http://www.globalsugarart.com/search.php?search=snowflake+cutters I also have a paper punch that I bought it is a Martha Stewart punch and if you roll your gumpaste out thin and allow it to dry for a bit it cuts really nice small snowflakes.
It is kinda hard to tell but that photo of that cake looks like it has royal icing snowflakes on it. You can get the designs more delicate and if you use a #5 or 7 tube you can make them rather sturdy...there are lots of snowflake patterns online....I was actually doing a search last night because I want to make some myself for my tree....just place plasrtic wrap over the design and pipe... sprinkle some edible glitter and let dry overnight.

I use patchwork cutter a lots, n like Jeri said, its easier to work with them on gumpaste. The cutter needs to be greased properly, too much of grease or too less, n the cutter can really give your a tough time.

Jennifer Dontz sells some nice snowflake cutters on her site sugardelites.com.  I know she just put quite a few on sale and I think free shipping.

I got my snowflake cutter fromhttp://www.bakingfrenzy.com/3-snowflake-plunger-cutter-p-184.html. Their cake decorating tools are a lot cheaper than else where.
