Does anyone have a suggestion of what they use on their cakes to moisten them up? Do you use a simple syrup or have a sauce that you put on them? If so could you please share your recipe, please!

TIA,

Diane

Denise, how and when do you apply the syrup? And I guess I should add how much? I've just never used them but like the idea of broadening the flavors I can offer.

I use a simple syrup to not only add moisture but also to flavor my cakes. I typically us a basic Yellow cake and then infuse it with a flavored simple syrup.
Simple Syrup is 3/4 cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of water. Boil it until the sugar dissolves and voila. Very easy. :)
