I have a pasta machine and I'm keen to use it to roll sheets of fondant for my cakes. However how would you stick strips together to make a piece big enough?

Anyone done this before?

Has anyone used the pasta attachment for the KitchenAid mixer to roll small fondant? I found one for $150 and was wondering if it would be worth it.
I have a kitchen Aid attachment and was not that expensive. Does it have more than one roller?

I am with Jeri on this, the Ateco mat has been my favorite toy. It makes moving the fondant onto the cake so easy and I do not use anything on the mat, no cornstarch, no confectioner sugar, and it just peels right off. Love it.

I think the secret is just experience... the more you do it the easier it is to get the thickness you want. It does take some work but I am a firm believer in the Ateco mat.... would not be without it!!!
