Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I am fairly new at cake decorating and have an order comming up for a cake with black gumpaste or fondant roses. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions as to where I could find some good tutorials, or techniques for making these. I have made some roses before but never any that look fully bloomed. Any help would be a great help.

go to youtube . you can find lots of vidios on how to  ...... just about any thing . thats how i have been learning on my own , and just playing . only been doing cakes since march 2011 . my last cake i hand painted starry nite . the one b4 that . was mad hatter . i loved doing that one . it was so cool .

I think that the very best tutorials I have ever seen come from Edna De La Cruz.  Here is her link (she offers many floral tutorials as well as other types as well).  I always make mine Edna's way and they always look as real as from a garden....

Good luck!

I agree, Youtube is your best source. Edna is faboulous, she's very detailed, but her work is flawless and she is a good teacher. Just search gumpase roses, and boom, you take your pick. Best to you.

The best rose in my idea is Edna de la Cruiz rose, you can find it in 6 tutorials on Youtube.
