Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi Guys:

Is it possible to flavour store bought fondant? How will the texture be affected, if yes? Will it require icing sugar to be added (in the event the fondant gets "wet")? Will this affect the fondant? Would
I need to knead the fondant like a mad woman...lOl....sorry...lol?

You can purchase flavored oils and it only takes a drop or two. It won't affect the texture like extract.
Thanks Theresa...

Yep, I've used oil flavorings in Satin Ice and it works great! I like to knead it in and then wrap it up and let it "soak in" for several hours before I use it. I've never had a problem with needing to add more sugar, but I think it'll depend on the humidity where you live. Good luck!
I added flavor once and it made it sticky so now I don't . My cakes & fillings are the flavor I want people to taste so I only use the vanilla satin ice now.
