Wilton fondant is not that good at all, but I have purchased samples of fondant and have found that Satin Ice and Fonderific have the best tasting fondant. Satin Ice has different colors and they are all vanilla flavored. Fonderific has a chocolate fondant that tastes like tootsie roll!!!! Isn't that the best......ok....I m happy about that. They also have other flavors to match the colors....pink is strawberry, lemon is yellow, they have tutti frutti and white buttercream flavored fondant.
www.cakesupplies4u.com - this is where I ordered the sample fondant from, you taste a small piece of it and keep some on hand for color purposes.

Would you share your buttercream recipie? Also where can you get a 110% real butter?
Does anyone have real experience with the Fondx by Cal Java? They sent us some samples and the flavors are better than most but how does it compare to SatinIce?
I was looking on their site and didn't see samples did you have to call?

Since we are a store and are looking to carry it we wanted to know what the taste was like.

Fondant is SWEEEEEET...sometimes toothachingly sweet. I hate marshmallows as a rule...but I like marshmallow fondant. I add up to a tablespoon of diluted saltwater sometimes to my batch of mmf, that helps to cut the sweetness some. For me its not so much about the taste as the texture..usually pretty chewy. As an interesting side note I saw these articles recently

Buttercream may be on its way back in.
