Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I am sorry but am I the only one that is SO Very Frustrated by the add that pops up and stays infront of anything I am trying to read or write??

It is a Cookbook add, or even those 6 second adds that count down while you are browsing the site. IT REALLY MAKES WANTING TO LOOK AROUND DIFFICULT.

please tell me what you all think!

Is it me, should I just be more patient?

Hi Rochelle - I love this site, but I have to admit I find those ads very distracting and a bit of a turn-off. Especially since it moves with your cursor. I'll see what Theresa has to say about them.
When it pops up I usually refresh the page and its gone =)
Ah, good tip, Samantha!

Maybe we should put it to a vote?

If you'd like to see them get rid of the pop-up ads that follow your cursor around for the first 6 seconds you are on the site (in hopes that you will accidentally click on them), then vote "Yes, lose them". If they don't bother you and you are indifferent, vote "No, don't care."
You are not a lone...I hate them too. Very frustrating. Yes, lose them!!! I can't tell you how many times I have been diverted away from this page while trying to close those adds.
Well in order to keep this site free we have to put up with pop-ups...that advertising pays for the webmaster....and I have never has a pop up last more than a few seconds...they all come with an X to close them....
You are on the mark Karen.

I understand that the advertising pays the bills, and I don't mind the banner ads or the ads alongside the main pages; even a pop up that I can close immediately is tolerable. What I don't like is it following my cursor around, making it difficult for me to land my cursor ON the X.
I agree with Eileen S. The other ads do not bother at all. It is just the floating, annoying one. The ad could be the best offer in the world, but it loses its punch if it annoys you - it's pushy advertisement, and who likes that.
