Inspections??

If you are doing a small cake business out of your home, do you need to get an inspection done by the Dept. of Agriculture or something thereof? If so, how much does it cost and how rigorous is it?

Definitely by the Dept. of Health. They prefer that you bake in a separate oven than where you would your meals. There's more to it so yes, check with the Health Dept. and make sure you get your license with Dept. of Consumer Protection.

Actually it depends on where you are. Some places it is actually the Dept. of Ag. Good luck.
