It's official - I'm a convert!
I used the SPS system for the first time today. We made a 4 tier wedding cake and it was wonderful! I always stress over crooked cakes when using dowels or straws but this one is fool proof.
Here's info on using the system - http://media.cakecentral.com/files/sps_104.pdf
You can purchase it from several vendors but here's where I found it the cheapest on the East Coast. http://www.fondantsource.com/bacrsiplse.html
Once you've read the directions if you still have questions just let me know. I'm not an expert on it yet but I've done a tremendous amount of reading on this subject.

That's really cool, Deah! I'd never heard of that system before! I can see where it would be great for anything over 2 tiers that you're going to be transporting. I love that it's made for 1-time use so the person getting the cake can then just throw them away, you don't have to worry about getting your system back (unlike a few of the other systems I've seen). Would be fun to get a set just to try them out! Thanks for sharing!
And your cake is gorgeous- did you freehand all that piping??
Deah,
Amanda (from ITO) uses that system and loves it too! I have heard good things about it. Glad you had good success with it! I do love my cake stackers system but there are the parts that have to be returned.
Your cake is so pretty! Lots of piping!
Yes, all hand piped. I have a cake partner so we were able to switch off when our hands got tired.
