The Next Great Baker
So, what did everyone think of The Next Great Baker? I was so excited to watch it and then I realized I missed it at 10 pm. I saw our member Jay Qualls in the commercial, so I'm really dying to find out when the first episode is airing again.

Well I think everyone worked well together with out Pam. She was a little whinny. I am not sure who I really like the best. Jay is really good and so is Meagan. I think Corina will win because she is the most like Buddy and his family. I like Dana too, but he made a big mistake with the chocolate cake.
Greggy did have some great decorating skills. I really love this show. Buddy makes those challenges look so easy.

I can't believe Jay was sent home yesterday! That was his first flop of the whole series. The others with the exception of Megan didn't do as well as he had done since the beginning. So disappointing.

Hey, yah it was a bit disspointing considering he's done well in the other tasks!! But the competition is coming to an end...i think Dana is the best candidate at this point!! He's really good....i've always liked this work! And he seems like such a down to earth guy, who has passion and love for the work he does!! :)

Yeah, you're right. He seems to hold up really well under pressure and is able to keep calm when there's chaos going on around him, which will help while working with the gang at Carlo's Bakery.

Well yes I was disappointed. I can't believe Jay had such a bad cake. I don't think that was his expertis so he didn't do so well. Dana is my favorite. I so didn't like the blondes car, but she did make it move and went big. Like Buddy and them would do. I am so glad that other guy is gone, he always screws up. But seriously I think Corania is going win because she is most like that family even though she is not the best. Dana just is to easy going to fit in with Carlos Bakery..... But of all the contestants, I think the last 4 were overall the best. I am including Jay.

I am not sure if I am buying Jay's cake disaster....have you seen his cakes...he makes outstanding haute couture wedding cakes...he is meticulous in design and execution, he is a stickler for detail...even if his expertise is not is carved cakes (ie car cake) his actual cake portion with the drapes still should have been stupendous....I just have a funny feeling that there is some winner predetermination going on...maybe some day Jay will let us in on the "whole truth and nothing but the truth"....or I could be wrong, he "could" have had a bad cake day!!! :D

it was so hard to watch everyone struggle (except Dana!), i felt just awful. but it did make me all the more thankful for having Mike McCarey's car cake tutorial on DVD!!!!

My money is on Dana. I think he's been pretty consistent all the way thru. I feel bad for Jay as he should be up there with Dana. Don't forget to watch it next Monday.
