Does anyone know which size pans would be best to use for a 3 tier topsy turvy cake that needs to feed 50 people?  I was thinking a 12, 10 & 8 because of the waste in carving but am not sure if it will be too much?

Thanks for your input!

Donna, what method are you using? If you are cutting the hole in the tops so the next tier sits flat any waste in carving is made up by adding that 3rd layer to each tier. Your 12,10,8 will serve more than 80 party slices. 10, 8, 6 will serve 60 according to the charts.
Hi Deah,

I am cutting the hole in the top. I am thinking it may still feed around 65? If I scale the cake to a 10, 8 and 6 I'm afraid it may not look as good. I've done a few larger topsy turvy cakes so I am unsure about this. Maybe i'm better off not cutting the hole?
