I know the purpose of the kitchen cake but what do you do for a kitchen cake? Is is a single layer sheet cake, double layer sheet cake, rounds? I know the decorating is minimal since the cakes will not be seen whole. I'm assuming top border and bottom border only.
My Kitchen cakes are 2 layer 9 in rounds with filling. Some have top and bottom borders, some do not. And some just have some type of texture design on top, swirls that type of thing in the frosting. No other piping.
I make double layer sheet cakes...easy to portion...plain decorations but if the main cake is covered in fondant I ask whether the customer wants the kitchen cake in fondant as well.
