Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi bakers!!

I have a customer who is looking for a tropical themed wedding cake with a coral flower on top.  Anyone have an idea of what this is and how to make one?  It is not a flower in coral colour.  I looked it up online and it looks like this:

https://www.google.ca/search?q=coral+flower&hl=en&tbm=isch&...

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated!! Thank you.

Hey Mizztry
I have looked at many colour charts and none of them were comprehensive enough for me. All simple colour mixtures, nothing complex, like coral. Thought I would give you the one I use, Hope this helps.  :o)

oops sorry didn't notice that it was the color

Goreti thank you so much for the tutorial...i suppose the hibiscus is a tropical flower and can pass for this "coral flower" that she is referring too.  I've never made gumpaste flowers, but this does not look so bad.  How much would one charge to make this?

June thanks for the colour chart - this is great! I use Americolour so hopefully it should be similar.

Couldn't help you with price since I don't sell my cakes or flowers.  Sorry

The Hibiscus Coral Flower you link to here is simply a coral-colored hibiscus (They come in red, coral, yellow, etc).  Is that the flower your customer wants, or a different flower?  In your first post you say : "It is not a flower in coral colour"...which is it?
