Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hullooo all, its me again - I have a wedding cake to do for next Saturday and the fondant has to be purple!  Past experience has taught me that purple gel makes for a bitter taste because one has to add so much to make the colour real - any suggestions on how to overcome this?  Or better product to use?  Thanking you kindly :-)

Hey Mandy, would you mind sharing what kind of airbrush and compressor you have.  I love your cakes.  I tried using an airbrush many years ago but was not very successful but I was trying to use it using paint that had to be fired on porcelain.  Got rid of it years ago.  Maybe this would be a better experience.

Hi Sandra, my airbrush is a standard one used for normal painting, gonna send you a picture, and my compressor is a 24litre.  My hubby surprised me with both for my birthday last year, and it took me a good six months to pluck up the courage to give it a go, but honestly I will never be without either.  What I also like about it is that one can use alcohol with the gel colours in this gun, whereas I think the food airbrushes might be a bit more finicky?  Anyhow, all the best, and just persevere persevere persevere! Good luck :-)
