I got an email confirmation from Cake Central to tell me that my cake was going to be featured in Cake Central Magazine! I'm on page 138 - 139. How exciting! I always wanted to write a book, but this will do nicely!

Way to go Bettina - so happy for you and proud to know a famous person lol! Les, I think you can download the magazine from Bettina's link. Cost $5.99 it seems.
Congratulations!! That is wonderful!
Thank you everyone!
Oh! Congratulations! I can't wait to download my copy!!!!
I missed this news Bettina... Congrats. I don't get the magazine, so can you post a pic of your cake here.
Sure would love to see it..... :o)
It's a downloadable magazine June. $US5.99. But I will put some pics up now. They've also asked me to write about coming up with a sketch and how to go from there to cake!
Sorry Betinna
Won't spend $$$ on a magazine I know I won't look at. Since I am not in business, and it is a hobby, I do all my cake lookin here on CWB, CC, Cakesdecor and the internet.... :o)
I hear ya June. To start off I was buying a particular cake decorating magazine from my newsagent, but I was finding that once I looked at it, I never referred to it again! What was the point of buying it then? We only have one UK style cake decorating magazine in Australia, so we are lacking in that sort of reference. At the time, ANY book/magazine was welcome to fill the void we had here in Australia for this type of publication.
Once I established a business, I felt I needed to keep up with trends and products I took out a magazine subscription with Cake Craft and Decoration. I must admit I like a magazine that gives you step by step tutorials and because of that I subscribe to cake craft and Decoration for these reasons.
As I am self taught, I have had to rely on books most of my life to learn techniques and with the advent of the internet, I have ready access to a lot more information. I also love the fact that YouTube exists, it was how I first came to know of Edna De La Cruz.
I find it easier to access the internet these days to find a tutorial or the cake forums to ask questions, than to paw (sic) through books and magazines - having said that I do love basking in the glory of some of the old books I have, and I do find it easier to read a book than try to read a computer screen whilst I'm trying to do something. In fact I will go so far as to print it out rather than read it on the screen! But I don't always have access to the net, so it's back to the books or mags again.
