Hi there! My crocodile scratched out a scorpion. I have an order for a scorpion cake. Please help! What is the best way to make the tail? The cake is due on Friday.

Use rce crispy treat then cover it in royal icing or chocolate when dry attach the tail to the cake with chocolate n tooth pick to connect the cake. Cover in fondant match the rest of the body. Hope this helpedn good luck

Thank you Alicia, I will try your advice.

Rice Crispies for sure, form the tale but crush the crispy treats while forming the tale, cover in icing and again in fondant.  I made a fish jumping out of the cake and it works.  good luck!!  Can't wait to see the cake.  Susan

Thank you Susan, I will post when done.

sometimes when i'm doing a carved cake and have a tail or legs to make i mix my cake i have craved away with a little icing and make what i need. make it a thick consistency damp your hand with a little water when farming so it does not stick to your hands then place in freezer for short time and then it can be cover in butter cream or fondant. then u have no wasted cake. just another way to do it. i did a alligator tail and legs that way did great. sending pic of gator its all out of cake with butter cream icing only fondant r the eyes

Thank you Dorothea, i'll keep it in mind. I have never tried the Rice Krispies deal, so I am going to try that first and if i struggle I'll try your suggestion. Will keep you posted.Your croc cake looks great... so huge!

Try cereal treats made with less marshmallows, then cover with candy melts instead of frosting and stick in the fridge to harden.  Good luck - Can't wait to see it!
