Hey Arpil.... A few of us from the NOLA group are meeting up on Sat at 1pm at Salieys at 1120 Stumpf Blvd it is right there across from Academy Sports. We are trying to start up a Cake Club. If you would be interested I hope you can come meet with us. Let me know if you can make it. You don't need to bring a cake or anything. Just come by and meet up with us.

No I don't bake from scratch. That is a lot of flour. I don't even know if I would go through 25 lbs. I wish I could go in with you, but I don't think I would use it anytime soon. Thanks for thinking of me, if I used it I would so go in with you. Is there anyone else you can ask. Let me know if you do get it and want to get ride of like 10 lbs. I might can do that.

Thanks I will do that next time I make them. I want to get into desserts...All kinds, pastries, cookies, etc.... I love making things people will enjoy.

That is good. I know when the instructor for our class, was telling the others what to bring for the next class she said to get the little can of icing. It may just be each instructor, I know Stephanie is doing the Sat classes with the people who started with her, but she works at the Harahan store. Wow that was a cool job. I have not ventured to cookies, I tried once and didn't get good cuts. I may try since I have a ton of fluer de lies cutters.... I want to make Saints cookies. I told the poeple in my class about this site, but I don't see where any have joined. I liked the class, but still feel like I need more.

Are you taking the cake class tomorrow? If so good luck and have fun. I have a massive project I am doing for Sat. I have been working on it all week. I hope this is all worth it. I am sure soon my boss is going to charge me for using the oven here at work.

Yeah that is why I am not taking either I or 2. There are a few new techniques that they teach you now. But I didn't really care to know them. I took 3. I am learning a few things. But some stuff I already learned by watching videos online. Good luck and have fun.... Sometimes I like the premade icing just so I don't have all the mess. Szabos has a brand that I really like, they didn't have any the last few times I went, I think it is Country Kitchen. But they have both that and Wilton. I really love the gumpaste they have too. I am being lazy with the icing.

Hey... I got a message from Michael's that starting this Sat the 5th they will have 2 beginner classes, 10 and 12:30 and the Gumpaste/Fondant Class at 3:30 for 4 weeks. The price is half off for June and you get 10% off all Wilton Products in June if you attend. I took the first 3 courses and believe the Gumpaste Fondant is the 4 one that I need to take. So I think I am going to do it. For $22.50 I can't pass it up. I just hope the fondant part is not the part I already had.
