Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hello Bakers - This may be a crazy question but is there such thing as cheesecake icing? And I don't mean icing for a cheesecake. :) My customer is asking for a vanilla bean cake with some sort of cheesecake icing. I think she means cream cheese icing but before I respond to her I want to make sure there isn't a recipe out there that I am not aware of. I can't imagine there being one but you never know. :) Thank you!

I think she means cream cheese icing as well.  I know LorAnn makes a cream cheese flavoring, but I don't think it would give you what she's looking for.  Cream cheese icing is going to really overpower a vanilla bean cake though (in my opinion).  Good luck!

Well Julie

I think your customer is asking for  her cake covering, either BC or Fondant in cheesecake flavor. LorAnn oils makes a cheescake flavoring. My friend Linda Wolff from this site got me on to it. She uses it often in her homemade MMF. Acoording to Linda, it tastes just like cheesecake. I actually have been twice to 2 cake decorating supply stores, ( in Ont., Cananda ) and both times they were sold out of that flavor cause it is so popular.

Thank you ladies! I appreciate the feedback. I didn't think there was a cheesecake icing out there. But yum if it were possible. :)
