Thanks for Sharing Gloria... Do you have any tips for us newbies at them..... Love the pictures thanks again!

Thanks Gretchen!

YES... first of all if you have a kitchenaid stand mixer you can use it to break up the cake pieces and mix in the frosting...MUCH easier and keeps your hands cleaner!

After you mix the cake and frosting together let it sit for about 10 minutes.. use this time to melt your  chocolate! Freeze the cake balls, it helps to keep them from falling apart when dipping.

Use some crisco when melting your chocolate to thin it... if your use thick chocolate it will pull the cake right off your sticks.   Also if you use a deep mug to melt your chocolate and dip the pops its a lot easier!

dip the lollipop sticks in the chocolate and then put them into the cake balls, let that sit for a few minutes to set up.

Let your imagination run wild!!!!

Very nice susie!!! THey look delicious!!!

Susie, our newbie.....Thanks a for sharing!!! So you use your donut hole maker to make all of these?  Is that something you have just bought, or have had for a long time.  Can you share where you got it from....

Thanks again and can't wait to see everyones projects!!!

Okay... My daughter, Sarah, and I made the cake balls... We put all the scraps I had left over from last weeks cakes in to my Kitchenaid, I put a couple scoops of icing in and turned it on.  Then I scooped the dough out with an ice cream scoop and she made them round.  We got 66. We put them in the freezer.  While in there, I got a message from a friend on facebook asking me if I make cake balls.  So we talk, she was waiting to her back from one other person about them, so wasn't sure if she was going to use mine or not.  So we pulled them out and I put sticks in them all, wasn't going to do that for all of them, until there was a possiblily they were going to be used for favors.  But she didn't need them... So then we got to decorate them our own way.....

The next night, (I am in the middle of two cakes) we melted chocolate in our little Wilton pot, and started dipping them, the chocolate harden quicker then she could put the sprinkles on them.... But they are cute.....

We only did one tray... We have more and I have more scraps from this weekend.... I think Sarah is going to have a treat for her new teachers at her new school on Tuesday when she finally goes back to school......

With my knee surgery I totally missed all of this... might have to do some cake balls just for fun.  Will see if I have time.  Have 2 baby showers in a few weeks that both are asking for cookies and cake and they are both on the same day so I am trying to not do too much other stuff right now.  Love cake pops!

I had some left over pumpkin cake scraps and cream cheese icing so I made them into cake pops and dipped them in white chocolate.  They were not worthy of pictures but tasted great!
