To all the bakers and creative thinkers,
I need your help! I have a request for a divorce cake. Never done one before obviously :)
The customer expressed words such as "FREEDOM", "POSITIVE" so i'd like to give her a cake that represents that. Any thoughts?
One idea I had was a lady in like a convertible or something driving on a road, with a sign saying "Road to freedom"...but how can i add some excitement and fun to that??
Hoping someone out there have some cool and fun ideas to share!
Thanks a lot!

I always find the upside down wedding cakes with the groom smashed under it rather amusing. However, if there are kids involved it isn't a good way to portray their father.
I like the idea of the positive theme though. Using your car idea, why not have the lady in her wedding dress, waving bye to the husband and her veil laying on the road. If she has kids, you could put the kids in the car.
Having experienced a divorce...I had this put on my cake before I truly got into baking
Don't Chase Him, Just Replace Him
Doesn't go with what the customer ask for, just wanted to make someone smile!
Hi ladies,
Thanks so much for the wonderful and creative ideas!! I'm not a scuplture nor do i know how to make figurines...how would i make a bride waving? I've looked at some toppers, but a) they are pricey and b) they don't come apart...both bride and groom are stuck together.
@ Michelle, i like that saying...it would fit perfect with the car theme idea!
I had another idea this morning in the shower (dont ask)!! The lady said she feels positive...so it got me thinking about a BATTERY! HA...doing a cake that is in a shape of like a duracell battery. One side is positive and one negative, and it's split in half. And putting marriage related stuff on the negative side and being single on the positive side. Does that sound corny??? I just dont know how to make a battery out of a cake!!
Since you don't do figures, what if you used little Polly Pocket figures? She's even got her own car! Make a cake that looks like a road - maybe even have Polly running over a guy (maybe if he's something like a hunter you could use a little action figure guy). Just a thought. :)
The battery would be pretty easy - use a jelly roll!! :) Lots of recipes online for those. Then cover it with fondant to look like a battery.
Everyone thank you so much for these creative ideas!! I LOVE them....now i have something to work with!! I'll keep you posted on the design!! :)
Thanks again so much!
