I have one but I haven't played with it too much. Sorry no help! I've only done letters.

are you using your own fondant or gumpaste or their sheets?
it seems with their sheets you must put a decent amount of shortening on the mat so the design doesn't get pulled up. also the tension/pressure has to always be re-set. i find very small details do not cut as well as the larger designs.

I just used mine today for the first time. Luckily my daughter is home from school and was able to talk me through it. This machine has a very high learning curve, IMO. I think with a lot of trial and error it will be fantastic, though. Adjusting the pressure seems to be key. I have to say I didn't care much for their sheets. I'm going to try using my own gum paste and see how that works out.

The dinosaurs I made had two layers. I had trouble getting them to stick together. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tanisha!! That does help. I looked everywhere to find an answer to my question but could not. I used the Cricut icing sheets and they were pretty dry. Since the cake was just practice for me I ended up using shortening which worked pretty well but it started to come through the icing. Using water just made them dissolve. Thanks so much for the tip!

hi kathy, about sticking the dinosaurs together i would use a gum glue(either mixing a small piece of gumpaste to water and mixing it and waiting til it dissolves or adding CMC to water works too. You need to stick them together when they are still soft not hard. hope this helps.

Thanks Lisa, I have tried their sheets and they were just a mess, and then I have also tried gumpaste and fondant. Is there a trick to getting the blade in, maybe my blade is not in correct.

Freezing the fondant on the mat is definitely the key when using. I use a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mix and freeze for 30 - 45 min. The cuts come out so much cleaner using this method also. Adjust pressure and speed til you find what works best for you. Also make sure the blade is lined up correctly with your fondant on the mat.
