Hi everyone, ive just made my first 'rolled rose' Would love to hear your views as to if ive got this right for this cake .

Omg wow - have you got this right or what?  It's simply lovely Lis - well done you.  It looks exactly like the rose buds that my Mum made in white (albeit in royal icing) for my wedding cake over 30 years ago.

Thanks Katy, Ive done some more and also in the purple colour i have. Its not easy getting them to all look the same LOL !! Ive made some glittered flowers with the calyx too...not too sure about them though.

Both look very pretty Lis - particularly love that rose.  The other is a little hard to see in this picture.  Looks a bit like a water lily style.  Don't worry about them not all looking the same - this is nature we're trying to replicate here and she has a multitude of styles!

Ha yeah thats true ! Sorry about the pic not very good. It is like a water lilly. Thought id put a pink and or silver dragge ball inside too. I wasnt going to do roses lol
