After a mouse ate my Cricket, I have been mightily peeved at the lack of spares and advice out there for repairs to same, so I am contemplating getting a Silhouette Cameo. Now that icing sheets are readily available, it seems that getting that consistency in cuts is more achievable. Has anyone had any experience with this machine?

A mouse ate your Cricket????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love mine!  I especially love it alongside my edible printer.  I love the versatility.

I will say, that so far, I have only used cutting sheets.  I haven't yet tried it with gumpaste.  The sheets make it so easy!

I will also say that my largest complaint (& what seems to be the biggest complaint of others) is the invesment v. usage.  I don't use it often, but when I do I love it.

Yes Katy a mouse ate my cricket! I don't know how a mouse got into my house as we have 4 cats! But then again unless it walked right past their noses and tripped over their whiskers, I don't think they would do anything!
the day I went to use it; I picked it up to place on the table and there was all this (what looked like) multicoloured pencil shavings. Turned out that's what was left after the mouse ate the rainbow ribbon on the mother board!
Now I have 4 cricket cartridges, no cricket and a bad taste in my mouth from dealing with Provocraft, hence the enquiry about the silhouette.

Even though Linda McClure says that one of the reasons she went with the silhouette was that it was inexpensive (???), I don't want to buy one and get lumped with a white elephant (although THAT could make a lot of money! LOL). I have read a lot of reviews about it and how it is better than the cricket, especially when cutting intricate shapes. The way I seem to be going at the moment, I think I could justify the cost, but......

These mice have the weirdest of tastes..............
