I actually like the taste of the marshmallow fondant and you can flavor it any way you like. I've done butter, almond and vanilla flavors. My kids LOVE it and ask for it all the time. Here's the recipe:

2 lbs sifted powdered sugar
16 oz. mini marshmallows
2 Tbsp. Water
1 tsp. flavoring

Follow the video for the steps in making it.

Good luck!

Hi Eileen, I really love your video....It's really helpful. I just wanna know that which fondant taste better? Marshmallow one or the other one which is made out of only powder sugar? I use Willton fondant on my couple of cake. I really hate the taste. My kids birthday is next month so I am gonna make the cake for them and looking for good fondant recipe. Can u help me out? Thank you so much for all the info and the recipe... :)

The recipe makes about 2 1/2 lbs. of fondant - I made two batches (5 lb. total) and had enough to do the 10" double layer, the 6" double layer, and the body of the guitar cake I made last night (ugh) - and I still have some left over. Sooooo it goes pretty far. You can roll it fairly thin. I had very very minimal cracking on the edges because I tried to go a little too thin on the larger cake. If you have the large Wilton silicone rolling pin, I use the blue guide rings for cake covering.

On Facebook my cake page is Handcrafted Cakes by Eileen - just search for that and you'll find it. I have a lot more pictures on there than I do on here.

Hi Eileen, just watched and love it. Thank you...I was going to order some fondant, but now will make it myself....I have to make a First Communion Cake for this coming weekend....How much cake will this recipe cover? I am just getting into using fondant, so not sure how thin to roll it....I hope you plan on making more tutorial videos.....Sue...ps...how do I find you on FaceBook?

Diana - it IS easy - much easier than other recipes I had tried.

Hee hee - didn't notice Steve's reflectin during editing. We had to shoot it at night otherwise our kids would have been running around. :)

Eileen ~ thank you so much for making the video and posting it. I was so afraid to tackle MMF but you make it look so easy:) I see your hubby's reflection in the window and it was so nice of him to help out in the making of your tutorial!
