OMG! I had to look up on line to see how much a stone was converted into pounds (the weight that we use) and it is truly hard to believe that you could possibly have had that much on you! Your frame work is so slim and tiny! Good for you Katy!!!! You are an inspiration!! I am in the process of psyching myself up to tackle the big job of shaving off all that I need to take off too. You inspire me, Katy! Taking it off isn't an easy job when you are around cakes and icing all the time. :O(
Okay, well let me rephrase that then....for being a step-granny, and for being old enough to be one, YOU STILL LOOK AMAZING! Being a step-granny doesn't negate the fact that at as older woman, you do not look that old. If you are old enough to be the 21 year old's nanny, then you would still have to be somewhere in the range of your 40s, and even then, you look good!!!
Well, for crying out loud, Katy, you look pretty darn good, especially for being a granny!!! My heavens, I'd give anything to look that good-before becoming a granny! I can't remember the last time I looked that good. It's been way too long ago!
Hi Katy! Thank you for being "friendly"!!! I think we all have some degree of craziness to be so taken with cake decor, I look forward to getting a bit crazy with you! Hugs, Holly
Thank you June and Nadia for your flattering remarks! Trust me, I can't take a close up haha. To come completely clean, though, I am old enough to be Daisy's Nan, (also have Jordi 18 and Jose 21), but am in fact their StepNan. But their Grandad and I have been married for over 30 years, much longer than the grandchildren have been around and the 'step' bit does't even come in to it. As far as they are concerned, I am their Nanny and that's all there is to it.
Katy,I have just went through your fantastic work. These are absolutely lovely and impressive.Katy, your abilities are admirable and I know you can do better than my work.
Thanks Katy, everyone inspires me :) I love to see the same cake made by different cake artists - everyone has their own flair to add to the cakes and personality seems to shine through in sugar. I just love it all.
I wish you success with your first moulding - I created some great little lego men and also used one of my daughters Barbies to give me a female face shape on which to base my heads (far cheaper than buying silicon moulds for each one) I then tweak the nose, mouth etc to make it look like the person. I love this website and thanks so much for your great comments.
HI Katy - your Ziggy Stardust cake is awesome (big Bowie fan myself), but the contest is actually for the incorporation of an image that was printed on an edible ink printer. Sorry! I took the tag off your photo. I hope we have a contest soon for hand-painted images!!
Well, don't know if you have ever been to Burlington, but it has changed, big time. Have liveed here for 32 yrs now. Originally from Hamilton, Ont. My Mom was from Stranraer, Scotland. A war bride. Both parents gone now. Have one cousin left outside London, UK. Hubbie & I just retired, so hope to come over to see where my Mom was born & raised, & go to Belgium, where hubby was born, & Poland to see his relatives he has never met.
