April 19, 1921 - August 10, 2012
My grandmother was my inspiration to do everything I do today and I will never forget her.
I grew up eating only health foods - things like natural peanut butter and puffed rice cereal. Grandma managed two different bakeries, one of them Reisterer's in Garden City. She brought over stacks of cakes and other treat and spoiled us rotten whenever she saw her grandchildren. The only way I could get sweets in my parents' house was to bake them myself.
I'll never forget baking with my grandma and the funny times when we forgot to grease the pans or got aggravated with the cracked cake and just bust it to smithereens.
My grandma loved to make way too much food for everyone, which I also inherited. She was kind and generous and never forgot a birthday. She was my savior whenever I was in trouble and truly demonstrated unconditional love.
I only hope I can spread a fraction of her love and kindness to all I meet. Thank you, grandma, for showing me how to follow my passion, for it has brought me the most happiness in my life.

Hi Terry
I am sorry for your loss.
Thank you for your kind words, everyone. Sorry I haven't been around in a bit between ICES and then this happening.
Beautiful tribute, Terri! What a special woman in your life. Hugs!
Awe, so, so sorry about your loss. But soulds like she was a wonderful woman and grandma!
Lucky girl, Theresa to have had such a lovely grandma in your life. Lucky grandma to have had a granddaughter who loved her back in equal measure. I never had a grandma, but I strive to be a good one for my 3 grandchildren, especially little Daisy who loves to bake with me too. I hope one day she will remember me in the same way you remember yours.
Wonderful thoughts Theresa
So sorry about losing your Grandma. Brought a tear to my eye, cause I was very close to my mine. Best tribute you can give is to keep on doing what you're doing...spreading love & kindness through your life & CWB. :0)
So sorry to hear about your loss but what wonderful memories you have of your grandma! She sounds like the perfect grandmother.
