Icing roses

When I'm making roses, basicly to save time where I want the roses to be placed on the cake. I either build a small amount of icing on the cake or use mini marshmellows to give the rose a little lift.
Taking the flower nail, I make my rose right on the nail, take a a sm. splatula slide it off the nail on to the splatula cont. placing it onto the cake where you like, use a tooth pick to slide it from the splatula to the cake.
This is sooo easy & fast. Hope it helps...
