Colleen, I work at a local restaurant that has been working Detroit City Fest for the past few years in the dessert section. I make the desserts for the restaurant and mass produce for City Fest. I have run the Cuisinart machine for as long as 10 straight hours and it hardly gets warm. Unlike the KA, that gets hot after 3-4 straight hours. It is a good machine.

I'm so happy to see another local here :) I figured I wasn't the only one around here making a mess in thier kitchen. Lucky you to have a son who ownes a restaurant :) if your anything like me..you can only eat so much of what you eat and the rest has to go some where :) I also have another full time job and have many people tell me that I need to quite and do this full time...my answer is ..as long as I have my day job..I can buy all the cool tools to do my fun stuff. Seriously though..I hope to some day (retirement) to open a small store front or B&B where I can sell what I make daily. And offer some small classes for gumpaste/fondant. I currently have a small business (weddings/showers/etc.) going on the side so I 'm never far away from doing what I love :) My passion as you probably noticed by my pictures, is gumpaste/fondant flowers. I got started on these a few years back doing roses for my nieces wedding cake and I'm now addicted :) as a matter of fact I need to sign off ...to get some flowers done for a wedding shower next weekend :) But I wanted to Welcome you aboard!! I look forwarding to hearing more about your cakes and deserts :)
