HI Fellow Cakers!

My name is Leigh Ann. I've been baking/decorating cakes for about 4 years now. I started out just doing them for family birthday parties, then word got around our small town and I started doing them for the public. Up until last year in June I was just doing them out of my home until my husband lost his job and I had to find a more lucrative job. I got hired at a local Deli/Bakery where I make on average 10-15 cakes a day on weekdays and anywhere from 20-40 on weekends. It's not always the most creative job but I'm just happy I found a job doing what I love in this economy. I still make cool, creative specialty cakes at home for my family and friends in my spare time.

I am self taught- never taken any classes or been to school for this, but this is my passion...I know this is what I want to do for the rest of my life! I'm still learning and always strive to learn and try new things. My dream is to open my own bakery before I'm 30. So I have about 6 years. I know it will be hard work and long hours but at the end of the day it will be fulfilling knowing I'm living my dream. I feel I can do anything with the support of my loving family and good friends!
