Well cream cheese icing is very tricky. It does not have the stability to hold up in humid weather. I had a big disaster with buttercream with cream cheese. It began to melt & slide off the cake. Your best bet is to use cream cheese "FLAVORED" icing. Cream cheese doesn't allow the buttercream to "crust".
I'm no expert but I suspect that the fondant bled because of how cream cheese frosting is. It's very moist and fondant as far as I know HATES moisture...So try using cream cheese buttercream next time as opposed to the frosting. It's a stiffer consistency.
