For my husband's 70th Birthday. Bottom tier is Chocolate Devil's Food sandwiched with fudge sauce and vanilla fudge butter icing. Words around the bottom read 'Rock Around The Clock'. Top tier is carrot cake sandwiched with cream cheese icing. Clock is set to 10 to 7 to try to indicate 70. Centre of the clock is a small record. Two electric guitars copied from his Fender Stratocaster. Accents made from black Mexican Modelling Paste and the cake is covered in white fondant. Cake board covered in black Satinice to represent a vinyl LP (anyone remember those?) and stamped with musical notes, rock n roll song titles and a few stars.

Oh my vinyl is HUGE here. The last music my son bought was the Black Keys on VINYL. Record stores have popped up all over. Steve never threw out his turntable. It was state of the art.... still is. Diamond needle was pricey, but my son bought one, and turntable is now in his room attached to some very good speakers. Trust me, I can HEAR the music. Nothing like vinyl. Sold all ours. Made a pretty penny. Wished now we had kept some. :o(

lol Betty - thanks for the compliment.  It won't happen my dear - they are as dead as a Dodo.  I just recently got rid of all of ours.  Thought I might get a few quid from a collector as we had so many and some really old stuff (eg Brain Salad Surgery (wth?)).  But no, unless it's a first edition, worth nothing.  £30 for the lot.........

No change in the weather really.  It's stopped raining, but it's bloody chilly, so the oven is going to get a work out!  Just call me Little Miss Improvisation.
