I made this cake for my German born husband for his birthday. The stein is several stacked 4" red velvet cakes with plenty of card board support between and about 4 skewers pounded through to keep it from toppling. The stein cake was first covered in icing then fondant all around it.The lid and handle were made from gum paste as were the plate, the pretzel, the pickle, and the brat and bread. The mustard was royal icing. All are sitting on a square cake that is covered in checker board fondant.

OMG...I thought the cake was just the beer stein until I read your description. The pickle and pretzels are totally realistic! You got me.... <grin>

So realistic that I thought the plate of food was actual food and plate...not cake...at first.  Great job.

Loads of detail & hard work!
