Thank you Katy :)     Holly, I agree... try to convince her.  Looking at the cake - I'm glad that I was able to hand paint and not have had to use real ones.  I had always wanted to paint them but have been too busy to just "try it"... so I'm glad this opportunity came along... Maybe you can do a search and show her different hand painted cakes... let her have visuals and let her know how unique and special it will be for her big day.... (etc)

...The bride did not want real feathers... so I had not choice! lol - Honestly, I was a bit nervous about doing this... but am pleased with the end results.

Wonderful!  I'm getting ready to do some peacock feathers, myself...  trying to convince bride that hand painted might be better than real feathers.  Did you always know you wanted to do hand painted, or did you consider real?
