I made this cake for the Christmas party at my work. It is Black Forest cake with cherry filling. The fondant is sponged with royal icing for texture, and there are red LED lights hidden in the plants which gave it a really nice ambiance when lit. I loved making this one, and it was a big hit at work. :)

Gumpaste flowers/Silk/real flowers..... either way they look great. I am not a purist, where everything HAS to be "made" for the cake. Whatever works, and makes a good looking cake!!  :o)

Thank you June! No, the flowers & leaves are not edible. I usually do make all my own flowers and leaves out of gumpaste, but I didn't have the time with this cake unfortunately. It was definitely alot easier this way, lol!

Wow

Lots of work!!  Looks great. Are the flowers & leaves gumpaste? Good idea using royal icing for texture. :o)
