2015-3-20 The happiest of Birthdays to you, dear Sandra!

A 3 layer 4" yellow cake on a 2 layer 6" yellow cake, all wrapped neatly in almond MM fondant. With the addition of buttercream flowers & stems, then covered with wafer paper flowers & leaves, with a few orange, coconut flavored, butterflies & dragonfly. This 'TOP' is sitting on 4 layers of 6" carrot cake, filled with almond buttercream, which when smoothed out gives a semi naked effect. All preplanned of course! lol

Thanks again Goreti, the 'style' was really Jordan's, she wanted to use the punches, and this is the result! lol  Can't get but so creative when working with a 4 year old.

I've been thinking about that, and think I will use a mister to apply flavor, think it should work just fine! ?? !  Without damaging the paper.

Or, we can get together, make our own paper, and flavor it during the cooking process......

Love this cake--It's funny how we all have different styles when making flowers.  I love the look of yours but somehow can't pull it off.  As far as the taste, they now sell wafer paper that is tasty but it is a little pricey.  I'll deal with what I have.

I though it looked a little taller, but that is still a pretty tall cake.  I love the airy, whimsical look of paper flowers (except for Goreti's, which look real), but I agree that buttercream, fondant and gum paste flowers will not be edged out by wafer paper.

Thank you Betty, but I am afraid, sadly, that 'paper' flowers, are never going to come up to the sugar ones, both fondant & Buttercream!  And that would be in appearance, as well as taste, of which they have NONE, to that I can attest! lol  So therefore they will NEVER , EVER, be in a contest with yours! :o)

It is a hair over 8 3/4"!  Not as tall as I imagined! lol

Bonnie this cake is really gorgeous.  How tall is it, anyway?  Looks super tall (and delicious)!
