Hi Gail, and thanx!
beautiful inside to..
And I was really pleased with how moist it was. Moist, but light. Maybe the curd soaking into it helped in that department. {:o)
Thank you Goreti! Wish I could share a piece with you...
I cannot tell you how much I want a slice of this. Left all my leftover cake at my brother-in-laws because I don't want to eat too much cake.
Thanks you two! I am learning that you can do a lot with just 1 little 6" cake! So when a recipe does 3 6" cakes, I end up with 3 separate cakes. And they are plenty tall on their own. Next time I will try to just tort in half, instead of three, and stack using both cakes, to see just how tall 2 6" cakes will look.
The orange curd came out even better this time. I used a little cornstarch, added to the cold liquids first, to thicken it, pureed all of the pulp, & left in all of the zest, instead of straining it out like I did the last time. A little lumpy, but oh so flavorful! Delish! Took a small bowl of the leftovers to my sis, and they loved it too.
FYI!! You do NOT have to comment on all my stuff! This goes for all of you! I am just loading them here to keep track of them properly. {:o)
Oh my goodness, what a perfect cake! It is even perfect on the inside...layers all the same heights, orange curd filling.....wow!
