Been practicing my roses - I have been so into buttercream recently that I feel I'm losing my fondant skills. This for a Valentine cake ordered for this week. A drop of piping gel mixed with vodka makes the dewdrop

It is pretty.  Katy, I have found that for me it helps if I let the petals dry a bit on a spoon.  This way when I put them together the petals hold the shape better.  The trick is not to let it dry too much so you can still manipulate them.

I can get the petals OK and then the assembly just goes all wrong - cack handed Anna, as my Mum used to call me!

Go onto cake style tv. Free rose video tutorial. You told me about it...simple & easy to follow..... :o)
