Gail I know what you mean.  When I see some cakes on here, I wish I could do such beautiful work.  But then, I tell myself to be satisfied for what I have been able to accomplish and be thankful.

Well my piping skills are no great shakes. I just have to make the time to practice.  I am with Linda, enjoy looking at some of the "feats" of cake on here, but know my limitations. :o)

I'm with Goreti. We each have an area where we excel and not so much in other areas. Those sculpting skills that you have and the ability to tackle a HUGE art project, is something that totally intimidates me. I'm better with smaller projects, but it doesn't stop me from admiring someone else's ability to do a huge project like that. And, in all honesty, I am perfectly fine not being able to tackle those darn gum paste flowers. I just wish that you and Goreti lived closer because I would 'barter' with you guys with something I may be able to do that you don't like to do, for a few dozen of your gum paste flowers! lol!! Although, I don't know that I could ever use them on a 'clients' cake because if someone else liked the end result...and wanted me to make another.....I'd be in deep doo doo on that one....

Gail, you may not be able to pipe like some others on here but this is really pretty and your piping skills are much better than mine.  We all have our strong points.  You do beautiful gum paste flowers and you have made some really awesome cakes.  I'm with Linda.  Knowing you, you will master the string work.
