Spring/Easter Cake Topper-Practicing flowers & sponge painting on fondant

I've actually had a little free time me time lately so decided I wanted to
make a Spring/Easter themed cake. I'm also determined I'm going to learn
how to make something that resembles flowers of some sort. I also saw a
very pretty cake w/sponge painted fondant & thought that technique would be
great for a spring/Easter themed cake so I thought I'd take a stab at it.
These are 2 samples of my 1st attempt at this. I cut out small circles of
fondant so when I was finished I could see how the cake topper looked w/the
finished product. Surprisingly, it dIdn't come out half bad :-)

I think your sponge painting is beautiful, Denise!  I have been intrigued by it but never done it myself.  Your little topper is too cute!
