yes it works well !if you tint your icing or fondant ! than darken it with the airbrush !it really helps get the colors deep  & rich !

Good idea about getting the icing the right basic colour first though - would take less then I would think.

I actually tried a food colour when I was first playing around with it.  Won't do that again as it seems it didn't clean out of the needle properly and the whole thing got blocked.  Had to give it to Mick to sort out!

we used food colors when we ran out of the airbrush ! but I don't know if it will work on fondant !???

yes they all use lots of color ! I would say if your wanting a dark color first do your fondant in a color than do your air brushing to darken it ! also !  when you do buttercream !I did my gold cake with the airbrush ! you will have fun , in shoprite I did rainbows , peps loved them !

Thanks Gail.  I just got the Cassie Brown Mini Airbrush Compressor Kit as it was on offer from the Craft Company at £74.99.  I really can't justify great expense for what is, in effect, a bit of fun.  But as it was so reduced I treated myself.  I have to say, it does seem to use a lot of colour very quickly, don't know if they all do or not, so I will use it sparingly or I'll be spending a fortune on colours!
