Inside is chocolate cake - outside is buttercream sides and leaves. The flowers and "card" are fondant.

Thanks, Linda! This is my new favorite design. It's so simple to do (no making sure the sides are perfectly smooth - LOL), and the made-ahead flowers make decorating the cake a snap. Big impact, not a huge time investment.
Every time you make this kind of cake, I am drawn by all those flowers, and I love it all over again.
