Here you can see a little bit of the wing structure - outlined with wire and covered with a thin layer of gum paste.

Katy, I hate the wire work - mechanical part. It hurts my hands, frustrates me and just in general pisses (yeap, there is that work again) me off. Once I get the wire armature the way I want it, I think I'm almost done. Since I have never before done sculpture, I am learning to do the armature along with everything else. I am hoping it will get easier.
