kinda big , they are posted last yr , & in 2011 , mad hatter cake , and Halloween cakes
Thank you, Gail. That is very sweet of you. I would just love to see the chocolate heads! How big were they? Do you have pics?
well from what I see , go for it your good at it !,he is adorable ! and your dragon is awesome !
The only things I have ever sculpted are the sugar figures shown on this site. I have always been a painter.
I did so 2 &1/2 3 lb heads in chocolate , love hand molding , I have done some clay, and wood , but since we moved cant find that stuff yet it may still be in the stables or barns ? pkd , realistic is a little harder , we try to hard when we make that !and it comes out not looking to much like we wanted !
I don't know if I didn't make the chocolate clay correctly or if my hands are too hot? I just seemed to keep squishing it and his nose looked like a blob. The chocolate tends to get really slick very quickly, too. I have had great luck using it for the body of the dragon and birds, then trimming with gum paste, but I have a long way to go before I can feel comfortable with it. I would love to be able to make realistic people with it. I thought about trying it with gum paste or a gum paste/fondant mix, but it might dry too quickly.
I love doing cakes like this , my pretty is not very good , but I can do some crazy stuff with chocolate clay , love making it ! but he came out so cute , face is awesome !
It's piping gel tinted blue. Really should have left it clear because I had already made a dark marbled fondant pool liner. No, I do not believe he does. He would just laugh.
The cake was delicious, but the piping gel not so much. It's OK but, like fondant, I can do without it.
Well you did it! Does your hubby know you posted this???lol
Luv your hair.
Are you guys swimming in jelly? Looks delicious, whatever it is.
Thanks, Gail. I really don't like to do this kind of cake. I like to make things pretty. Perhaps if I ever learn to sculpt better with modeling chocolate or gum paste, I will like it better.
