It is about 30 miles to the fair grounds.  I am planning to hold the birds on the drive up and add them to the cake after we get there.  I am not looking forward to the transportation process and plan to carry a repair kit!

Thank you ladies!  I am lucky that birds have flexible necks so the extra 3/8" added didn't ruin the whole look.  I poked the hole full of soft fondant and put new feathers over the break.

I think we all determined before that we can repair, fake or hide anything!

brilliant repair - you'd never know it had happened.  My anxiety levels are rising for you Sandra.  Hope you don't have to transport these too far?
