Sorry, yes they are tappits!  The trick is to cut a square of fondant, just big enough for your letter.  Press hard and wiggle it about so it's cleanly cut.  Lift it off the icing and the letter will stay in the tappit most likely (it should do).  Hold one end nearest to you and then flick the other end onto a firm surface.  The letter will pop out as long as you have greased or floured your cutter properly.  It may take a few flips but I am getting the hang of them now.

I thought it was the tappits. Extra Icing on the Cake, just posted a video on YouTube on how to use the tappits. I subscribe to her YouTube channel. Obviously she has had many inquires about them. Since I don't own any, never watched it. :o)

Haha Gail - singing along with you.  Anything to get Hotel California out of my head (don't ask me why it's there).

June the letters were done with black Mexican Modelling paste with the Funky Alphabet letter press set.  I have had trouble with those in the past, but I dusted them with cornstarch first (dealt with the white marks on the paste afterwards with vodka) and they came out perfectly with only a few that were tricky.
