Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

White cake, chocolate buttercream, rice cereal treats and chocolate MMF. I started with 3 stacked & filled 8" layers and hand carved them into the body shape with my serrated kitchen knives. I formed the head and tail from cereal treats by hand, covered them in fondant and modeled the details with various gumpaste and sculpture tools. I attached them to the body with skewers and buttercream and supported the head from below thru the cake with lollipop sticks.
The entire cake was then covered in buttercream and fondant which I texturized with a rubber stamp and the Duff cobblestone texture sheets. I then used Wilton spray color to give it an overall hue in green and yellow. Various other food colors, including metallic gold were then applied by brush and sponge-painting. Shelf liner and Bounty paper towels were then used to blot the "paint" while it was still wet to get additional texturization.
